After few trips of Malaysia day hikes, gotten the hang of it to enjoy ascending up the mountain.
As an advice, do sign up trips with agencies that specialises in organising day hikes or trekking overseas. There are agencies that is STB approved to bring people for overseas hiking or trekking trips where could just sign up with them that solves your logistics planning. Gunung Panti, situated at Kota Tinggi which one of my previous blog mentioned where we participate for the jungle survival event. Standing at 531m above sea level, it is almost the height same as Lambak. Route wise it is relatively relax hike as it does not much have much sudden wide steps like Lambak. It is good for folks that needs some altitude training nearer to Singapore. Before start of any hike, have a good night rest & drink enough of water to get enough hydration.
We followed the local guide to start ascend the mountain near to 10am, as you can see the starting route is relatively easy to hike on. Gunung Panti has commando mosquitoes & leeches. Yes you read it right. LEECHES. To prevent being blood-sucked, spray lots of repellant on your clothing or bring a small bag of salt if happened to be blood-sucked 😆
As an FYI, DO NOT attempt to pull off leeches as their bites is full of germs which the wound is small but could itch for a month or so.
Nearer to summit approximately 10-20m, we need to heave ourselves up the boulders by using the ropes hanging around. The boulders were rather mossy which could be slippery if you hiking shoes grip ain't ideal. I must say it was one the fun hikes i've went.
Finally after the boulders climb, we reached the summit! Yayyyyyyyy 🍾🍾
We took about 2 hours to reach the summit & brought our #nendoroid figurines to make memories. So... meet #stormtroopers from 501 legion & #roymustang from Fullmetal Alchemist.
After all the photo taking, we started to cook our lunch. One of the luxury food for outdoors: Maggie Curry 😛 See all the happy smiles & bellies!
We had a quick lunch & packed up fast due to rain approaching. It was not very sunny during the hike & from the summit we observed the fogs are moving towards the summit area form the surrounding background.
True enough during descending down, heavy downpour follows & we quickly wore our rain jackets to continue hiking down. Apologies for the poor quality due the rain hahahaha~~~
We took another 1.5- 2 hours to reach back to the foot of the mountain. Had a quick clean-up & head to KSL for food & leisure time. It was a pretty short hike, however its the company that makes the day hike fun. Ciaoz & Till the next post!
