Fjällräven Classic Hong Kong 2018- Day 3

Writer's picture: Allie LAllie L

Rise & Shine! Most of the folks were up as early as 6:30am. Sun rise was earlier than Singapore although Hong Kong shares the same timezone. This was around 7am & the sun was way above horizon. We had our breakfast & packed up to head off around 7:30am

It was really an invigorating experience waking up by the beach with vastness of sea view without vessels blocking, unlike East-Coast park & Sentosa. We hike our way up to the trail & it was even more gorgeous view from the top of coastal cliffs.

After around 2.5 hours setting off from Ham Tin beach, we reached CP5 Sai Wan. Nothing much around the area. Just small shops selling drinks. Each CP has a signage that indicate the next CP or campsite's distance. It could be a good booster or felt tired cos of the psychological effect.

Trails was mixed along the route. We kind of dread walking on cemented pathway😱

He felt the glum cos its scorching hot, combo with cemented trail + stairs🤣

At that point were just feeling Hulk cos it felt really tiring when we saw stairs.

Alas, we reached CP6 Yee Ting. It is in the middle of nowhere. After getting our passport chopped, we had quick lunch & hurried along to final end point.

We reached back to Po Leung Kuk Holiday Camp by 3pm. It was finally a relief that we didn't reached back too late 😃 After we settled down while waiting to retrieve our checked-in baggage & re-assigning of rooms, we participate in assemble the #Morakniv for charity.

Finale completion🍾

Final record from #Strava:

Night time Party! Open BBQ pit, free beer & grill like a local!

What more one could ask for? We ended our day much later & head back to our rooms to rest & move out from the camp the following day & head Tsuen Wan to spend a night.

This was our major adventure for 2018 & I really loved the Fjallraven Classic planned the event & making new friends that shared the same hobby. After this 1st participation, we have more trekking events with Fjallraven.

Stay tuned for the next blog as we have more coming up!
